Fanvue is a British fan platform that lets creators keep 80 percent of their revenue. That's the quick version. But there's more to say about this platform, both the good and, where it's fair, the critical.
We previously wrote a critical review of Fanvue after our account was blocked with no clear explanation. That was our experience at the time, and it still stands. At the same time, the picture has become more nuanced in 2026, and the platform deserves a fairer verdict than a flat rejection.

Fanvue for creators: 80 percent is serious
Fanvue's most attractive selling point for creators is financial: you keep 80 percent of everything you earn. That applies to subscriptions, pay-per-view messages and tips. The 20 percent platform fee matches what OnlyFans charges, but the platform also offers more functionality for creators who want to use AI tools.
The dashboard is nicely laid out. You can set subscription prices, send PPV messages, automate a welcome message and track stats per content item. That last one is handy for seeing what works and what doesn't.
Fanvue also has a referral programme: if you refer other creators to the platform, you get a percentage of their earnings for as long as they stay active. That makes the platform interesting too if you want to build a network of creators.

Fanvue and AI models: one of the few platforms that allows this
Fanvue explicitly allows AI models and virtual creators, one of the few big platforms that does.
This is where Fanvue stands out most from OnlyFans, Fansly and most other platforms. It has set out an explicit policy for AI-generated creators and virtual profiles. In practice, that means the following:
- Creators can use AI tools to generate content or build a virtual persona.
- Virtual creators with AI-generated images and videos are allowed, as long as they're clearly labeled.
- Fanvue works with a labelling system: profiles that are not from a real person are marked as AI or virtual.
What does this mean for fans? If you subscribe on Fanvue, you may end up with the profile of an AI model rather than a real person. The platform tries to be transparent about this with labels, but it's worth keeping in mind. If it matters to you, always check whether the profile you're following is a real or a virtual person.
What does this mean for creators? If you use AI to create content, Fanvue is the right place for you. You can work with AI-generated images, build a hybrid persona or speed up your workflow with AI tools, and all of it is allowed. That opens up possibilities other platforms simply don't offer.
Honesty about the past
We've been critical of Fanvue before, and that wasn't exaggeration: our own test account was blocked without a clear explanation, and the platform's communication at the time was well below par. Several creators and fans had the same experience.
The picture in 2026 is more nuanced. Fanvue has made progress on support and communication around account problems has improved. That doesn't change what happened before, but it makes the platform better now than the score of 1.5 suggested. Our current verdict is 3.3 out of 5: solid for creators who consciously choose this platform, with the caveat that you should always do your homework on Trustpilot before going all in on a new platform.
Payment options on Fanvue
Fanvue doesn't support iDEAL. Fans pay by credit card, and in some cases with crypto. That's a serious drawback for the Dutch market, where iDEAL is the standard. Dutch fans used to direct bank transfers or iDEAL may drop off at checkout.
If you mainly serve Dutch fans as a creator, this is something to weigh up. Platforms such as Friends2Follow do offer iDEAL and therefore have a lower barrier for the Dutch audience.
Fanvue versus OnlyFans: the main differences
| Criteria | Fanvue | OnlyFans |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee | 20 percent | 20 percent |
| Creator keeps | 80 percent | 80 percent |
| AI models allowed | Yes, with label | No |
| iDEAL | No | No |
| User base | Growing, smaller | Large, established |
| AI tools for creators | Extensive | Limited |
| Referral program | Yes | No |
For the earning model, the two platforms are practically the same. The differences are in the AI policy, the creator toolset and the size of the platform. If you use AI or want to build a virtual persona, Fanvue is clearly the more interesting choice. If you rely purely on the platform's name recognition to bring in new fans, OnlyFans has the edge.

Are AI models allowed on Fanvue?
Yes. Fanvue explicitly allows AI-generated models and virtual creators, as one of the few big fan platforms that does. It uses labels so fans can see whether a profile belongs to a real person or an AI model. That opens up options for tech-minded creators, but fans should be aware that not every profile is a real person.
How much do creators earn on Fanvue?
Creators keep 80 percent of all earnings: subscriptions, pay-per-view messages and tips. The exact amount depends on your subscription price, the number of active fans and how active you are. Fanvue also has a referral program that lets you earn an extra percentage by bringing in other creators.

OnlyFans has a bigger user base and more name recognition. For AI-driven content creation, Fanvue is the better choice. For maximum reach through brand recognition, OnlyFans has the edge.
Can you pay with iDEAL on Fanvue?

Who is Fanvue most suitable for?
Fanvue is best suited to creators who use AI tools or build a virtual persona, creators with an international audience, and creators who are active on several platforms at once. For Dutch creators who mainly reach local fans, platforms with iDEAL like Friends2Follow or LoyalFans are often a better choice.
