What is MYM?
MYM, short for Meet Your Model, is a subscription platform where fans pay for exclusive content from their favorite creators. The company behind it, Air Medias SAS, is based in Lyon and was founded by childhood friends Pierre Garonnaire and Gaspard Hafner. What began as a French answer to OnlyFans has grown into a serious player: for 2024 the company reported revenue of 105 million euros, and the French government put the platform on the French Tech 120 list of fastest-growing startups two years in a row. For a company in this industry, that's a strikingly official pat on the back.
Unlike most competitors, MYM clearly positions itself as more than adult content. Alongside erotic creators you'll find fitness coaches, artists and reality stars. Even Jean-Claude Van Damme has a profile there, though most visitors probably aren't there for karate tips. The focus is clearly on the French-speaking market. Dutch creators are rare there, and the interface is only available in French and English. Want to know who's earning the most there right now? Read our top 10 most popular creators on MYM.
How does MYM work?
MYM is built around subscriptions to creator profiles, topped up with individual sales: pay-per-view media, tips and custom requests. Creators also get a blog and webshop feature, more than most competitors offer. You can see how the platform stacks up against the other big players in our comparison of fan platforms.
For creators
- Signing up and getting certified: registering is free, but you can only start selling after a mandatory ID check. Certified profiles get a badge and show up higher in search results.
- Earning models: subscriptions between €4.99 and €99.99 per month, individual paid media, tips and personal content on request from fans.
- Extra features: your own blog, a webshop for merchandise and an affiliate program. That makes the platform more of a mini-site for your brand than just a paywall.
- Payouts: you choose the frequency yourself, from twice a week to once a month, as soon as your balance reaches at least 50 euros.
For fans
- Free account: looking around costs nothing; you only pay once you subscribe or buy something one-off.
- Subscribing: you take out a monthly subscription per creator, with the option to buy individual media or send a personal request on top.
- Payment: credit card, debit card, prepaid card or PayPal. There's no iDEAL; Dutch fans usually switch to PayPal or a prepaid credit card. You'll find more options in our guide to paying on fan sites.
- Cancelling: you cancel subscriptions via your account settings, and they then run until the end of the paid period.
MYM fees and commission
An account is free for fans and creators. Fans pay per subscription or purchase, and creators pay commission. The platform does not apply a fixed rate but three different percentages, depending on the source of income.
| Cost item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Create account | Free (fan and creator) |
| Subscription for fans | €4.99 to €99.99 per month, varying by creator |
| Pay-per-view, tips and requests | Variable, set per creator |
| Commission on subscriptions | 25% of revenue |
| Commission on individual media | 20% of revenue |
| Commission on tips | 10% of the amount |
| Creator keeps | 75 to 90%, depending on the income source |
That 25% on subscriptions is on the high side: most big platforms charge 20%. On the flip side, tips are handled cheaply at 10%. For how these rates compare with the rest of the market, check our overview of commissions and costs per platform.
MYM in the Netherlands: what you need to know
There are definitely MYM fans in the Netherlands, but the platform is clearly smaller here than in Belgium or France. The interface is only available in French and English, there's no iDEAL and the choice of Dutch creators is limited. That makes this fan platform a bit harder to use for Dutch visitors than alternatives that do support iDEAL. For an overview of all your options, see our platform comparison page.
For Dutch creators considering starting here, it's good to know that the French-speaking community is by far the biggest. You'll reach an audience faster if you also communicate in French or English. Wondering which platform suits you best? In our step-by-step guide for anyone who wants to become a creator we explain the differences between the platforms in concrete terms.
Safety and payouts
MYM checks strictly at the gate. Creators go through mandatory ID verification, and since 2022 the platform has used facial recognition to keep out minors, a direct result of French pressure on the sector. Profiles that don't pass certification are removed, which makes fake accounts rare. That strict line fits its home country: in 2026 France also introduced new legislation against online sexual exploitation, which requires platforms like MYM to carry out extra checks.
You can cash out once your balance reaches 50 euros, via bank transfer, PayPal or prepaid card. You set the frequency yourself, from twice a week to once a month, and the money usually lands in your account within a few working days. MYM doesn't withhold tax, but as an EU platform it does fall under the DAC7 directive: your revenue is shared with the Dutch tax office. What that means is explained in our guide to DAC7 in the Netherlands.
The market leader in French-speaking Europe, with strict moderation and flexible payouts, but of limited use for the Dutch market: no iDEAL, no Dutch interface, a higher commission on subscriptions and few Dutch creators.
