You don't have to pay to see something on a fan platform. Almost every platform lets you open an account for free and follow creators for free, and plenty of creators leave part of their posts open. On this page you'll read what's free on each platform, which platforms give away the most, and why you're better off steering clear of sites that offer leaked content.
| Create account | Free on every platform |
| Following creators | Free, unlimited |
| Most free posts | Friends2Follow: some creators make more than half of their content free to view |
| Free tiers | Fansly works by default with free and paid tiers side by side |
| Free trial | Available on OnlyFans, set per creator |
| What is never free | Paid messages, videos on request and live shows |

How free content works
Fan platforms have two levels. As a follower you see everything a creator marks as free; as a paying fan you also get the exclusive part and can chat. How much is free is up to each creator. For one it's a handful of photos, for another it's more than half the archive.
For creators, posting for free isn't charity, it's strategy: the more you show, the more followers you attract, and then you earn from the chat, individual content and the paid section. The male creators in our reviews in particular work this way, as you can see on our page on male creators.
What is free on each platform?
| Platform | Free account | Free content | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Friends2Follow | Yes | A lot: creators often leave hundreds of posts open | Login required to view free posts |
| Fansly | Yes | Free tiers alongside paid tiers | Credit card needed as soon as you pay |
| OnlyFans | Yes | Free profiles and sometimes trial periods | Paid messages almost always come on top |
| FanCentro | Yes | Previews and loose free posts | A lot of content is sold through one-off purchases |
| Fanvue | Yes | Depends on the creator | Watch out for AI profiles among the real creators |
| KNKY | Yes | Varies, the platform is still small | Offering still growing |
Creators who give away the most
On F2F we counted how many posts are open on each profile. The leaders are Mandy Dutch with 1,700 free posts, Veer Angel with 1,259 and Dusty Taconi with 1,051. The full count and the ratios are on our page about free content on F2F.
Apart from F2F, Fansly is the platform where watching for free is the norm: creators add a free tier next to their paid tiers, so you can follow without a subscription. Check out the creators on Fansly.
If you would rather search by creator than by platform, check out our overview of creators with free content. It also includes profiles on OnlyFans and FanCentro.
Almost free: welcome discounts
Besides truly free content, many creators offer discounts to new fans, usually 30 to 80 percent off the first period. These deals change week to week and appear on the profile itself, next to the button to become a fan. Combined with the free posts, you can get a good look around for a few euros. We've collected affordable profiles under cheap creators, and for what else you'll end up spending, see what fan platforms cost.
Why you should not use leak sites
If you go looking for free content outside the platforms, you end up on sites that repost paid posts without permission, often mixed with AI-generated fakes. That's stolen work, sharing it is a criminal offence, and platforms actively go after it; F2F tracked down distributors and fined them. FansDirect never links to such sites, as laid down in our ethics policy.
The good news is you don't need to: with a free account, the open posts and a welcome discount, you can see enough, legally, to judge whether a creator is worth your money. Which platforms work best for that, you can read on our OnlyFans alternatives page.
Frequently asked questions
Is OnlyFans free?
An account is free, and some creators have a free profile. You pay for subscriptions to creators who charge for them, and for paid messages, which most profiles add on top.
Is F2F free?
Creating an account and following creators is free, and many creators keep a large share of their posts public. For the exclusive content, you take out a paid subscription per creator.
Which platform has the most free content?
Friends2Follow, because lots of creators open up hundreds of posts there. Fansly comes close since it uses free tiers by default.
Do I have to log in to see free content?
On F2F, yes: without an account you only see a profile's bio and counters. A free account is enough, and you don't need a payment method.
Are leak sites illegal?
Sharing paid content without permission is a criminal offense, and platforms actively track down people who distribute it. Use the free posts and discounts on the platforms themselves.
